Evidence

Current Offerings

Evidence (2402C): When the facts of a legal case are disputed, lawyers must try to persuade the factfinder, such as members of the jury, that the lawyer's version of the facts is true. The law of evidence is about the limits on what proof lawyers are permitted to present to the jury and how they present it. This course addresses those questions, based primarily on the Federal Rules of Evidence. Topics include relevance, unfair prejudice, hearsay, character evidence, impeachment, and expert witnesses. Elements used in grading: Final Exam.
