Biography
Amedeo Rizzo, ACiarb, is a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) Candidate in Law at the University of Oxford, Exeter College, and Academic Tutor at St Catherine’s College (Oxford) in the UK. His research activities focus on international taxation and innovation, under the supervision of Professor Tsilly Dagan. He works as an Academic Fellow at Bocconi University and SDA Bocconi School of Management (Italy), where he coordinates the Accounting & Tax Policy Observatory (OFC) and the AI and Tax Platform, while being the Academic Coordinator of the LLM in Global Tax Law and Governance.
As a professional, he advises public administrations on their tax policy and collaborates with several law firms and private companies, as a tax and financial advisor. He is the Director of the Innovation Policy Network, Chairman of the data analytics company Lyra Analytics, and one of the founding partners of Imperium Audit SpA. He volunteers as a member of the Group of Experts on anti-corruption for Transparency International Italy, advising on corporate and tax law. Previously, he worked for the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN) of the European Commission on budget and tax policy, and for the International Tax and Transfer Pricing Team of Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Milan (Italy). He collaborated with the Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability (CBGA), India, on financial transparency issues in Asia-Pacific countries.
Before the DPhil in Law, Amedeo obtained a Master of Science in Taxation (with distinction) from the University of Oxford, a Master of Science in Law and Business Administration (summa cum laude) from Bocconi University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Business Administration. He received the Bocconi – Boroli scholarship for being one of the best Bocconi graduates of 2017. He has been a TTLF Affiliate from February 2022 to March 2023 and again since September 2023, conducting research in IP Law, Taxation, and AI governance and policy.
