Beth Williams is Associate Dean of the Robert Crown Law Library and Senior Lecturer in Law at Stanford Law School. She teaches courses in legal research and her research interests include the intersection of access to information and access to justice; digitization and preservation; and open access publishing, particularly as these subjects apply to libraries and legal information management. She has also taught courses in foreign and international legal research, knowledge management, and ethics.

Prior to joining Stanford in 2015, Beth served as Associate Vice Chancellor for the Law Library and Information Technology Services at Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, and she previously held positions at Columbia University and the Arthur W. Diamond Law Library at Columbia Law School. Before becoming a law librarian, Beth practiced public interest law in Maine, where she maintains admission to practice law. She holds a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, an M.L.I.S. from the University of Washington, and an M.A. in philosophy from Marquette University.
