Biography
Milan is an immigration attorney at the Office of the Public Defender in Alameda County, where she advises public defenders on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions. Prior to serving as a public defender, Milan ran a boutique immigration private practice in San Francisco, Milan Law, P.C., and worked as a Senior Attorney at Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto (“CLSEPA”), where she provided pro bono legal representation to low-income immigrants all over the Bay Area. Prior to founding Milan Law and joining CLSEPA, Milan worked at the Law Office of Robert B. Jobe in San Francisco, where she represented detained and non-detained clients with complex cases before immigration courts and agencies throughout the United States. Milan also worked with Central American Resource Center (“CARECEN”) in San Francisco, representing undocumented children and families as part of the San Francisco Immigrant Legal Defense Collaborative. Milan began her career in Los Angeles at Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project, where she exclusively represented unaccompanied children in removal proceedings. When not practicing law, Milan teaches yoga at Yoga Beach in San Francisco.
