The United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) is undertaking a comparative study of mediation settlement enforcement, with particular attention to the New York Convention as a possible model. Students will evaluate how international stakeholders engage in arbitration and whether parties will consistently enforce awards, and then advise the United Nations Deputy Secretary General on the viability of enforcement of conciliated settlement agreements for international commercial disputes.
