Owens, SLS ’96 and former SLS Dean Kathleen M. Sullivan, HLS ’81, moderated by Jeff Michalowski, HLS ’06. Some topics will include: The impact of the sudden infusion of new Ninth Circuit judges on how the Court functions, particularly as it relates to en banc decision-making; how the changes in the Circuit’s composition affects the practitioner’s guidance to her clients and crafting of her argument, and the benefits and drawbacks to judge, advocate; and the administration of justice of having all oral arguments being conducted virtually.
