Megan Ceronsky, Environmental Defense Fund

As a member of EDF’s Domestic Climate and Air legal team, Megan Ceronsky works to secure clean air and support climate change mitigation through policy initiatives and strategic litigation. Megan works with leading businesses, public health groups, States, environmental groups and other allies to advocate and defend efficient policies to curb emissions that are destabilizing the climate and harming human health. She speaks, writes, and teaches on climate change law and policy.

Center on Race, Poverty, & the Environment

The Center on Race, Poverty & the Environment is an environmental justice organization dedicated to helping grassroots groups across the United States attack head on the disproportionate burden of pollution borne by poor people and people of color. We provide organizing, technical and legal assistance to help community groups stop immediate environmental threats. In the over 20 years that CRPE has been helping the poor and people of color resist toxic intrusions and protect their environmental health, among our many victories we have beaten toxic waste incinerators, forced oil refineries to use cleaner technology, beaten a 55,000-cow mega-dairy, stopped numerous tire burning proposals, helped bring safe drinking water to various rural communities, stopped a garbage dump on the Los Coyotes reservation in southern California, and empowered hundreds of local residents along the way.

California Attorney General Office of Environment and Public Health

The Attorney General has a special role in protecting the environment and public health. The Attorney General is the legal representative of a number of state agencies that have environmental and public health responsibilities. These agencies include the Air Resources Board (which is responsible for administering the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32)); the State Water Resources Control Board; the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (lead agency under Proposition 65); the Department of Toxic Substances Control; the Coastal Commission; and the State Lands Commission. In her representative capacity, the Attorney General brings and defends lawsuits for these agencies and, in doing so, cleans up the air and the water and protects California’s wildlife and wild and scenic places.
