Advocating for Political Prisoners: Learning from the Political Prisoners Support Team
- This event has passed.
The Political Prisoners Support Team (PPST) is a groundbreaking initiative launched by the World Liberty Congress, designed to provide guidance and support to families and relatives of political prisoners across the globe. Activists and political leaders are often imprisoned simply for defending fundamental freedoms, only to face inhumane treatment and torture once behind bars. This leaves their families struggling with the agonizing uncertainty of how to help. Drawing from these same lived experiences, our team has developed proven strategies to navigate and address these crises. Our mission is to empower families of political prisoners with the tools, knowledge, and strategies they need to advocate effectively for their loved ones’ freedom.
Please join the Neukom Center for the Rule of Law for a lunch and zoom with Lilian Tintori and Berta Valle, two of the leaders of PPST, to learn more about the legal framework around political imprisonment, how PPST advocates with families for release, and what challenges prisoners face after release.
