Affirmative Action & Algorithmic Fairness

- This event has passed.
The Stanford Law and Policy Review (SLPR) and the Stanford Technology Law Review (STLR) are co-hosting their annual symposium, “Affirmative Action and Algorithmic Fairness.” In light of the two cases currently sitting on the Supreme Court, Students for Fair Admissions Inc. v. President of Harvard College and Students for Fair Admissions v. University of North Carolina, which center on affirmative action in higher education, this symposium aims to discuss the cases’ legal arguments and the constitutional and policy ramifications of ending affirmative action in higher education. The Symposium also will explore the use of AI and technology in the higher education admissions process, including how current technologies work and the potential issues raised by such technology. Panelists will include members of the SLS faculty as well as outside speakers.
