Alan F. Schatzberg is the President of the American Psychiatric Association, which is responsible for the development of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V). He received his M.D. from New York University in 1968. In 1991, Dr. Schatzberg moved to Stanford University to become the Kenneth T. Norris, Jr., Professor and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
