A lunch presentation by James Seff, nationally-recognized expert on wine law
As we think about what we want to do with our legal careers, we usually ask ourselves “am I more of a litigation or a transactional attorney?” Well, I propose a third category: wine attorney.
BioLaw has the pleasure of presenting James Seff, a nationally-recognized expert in all things legal about wine and other alcoholic beverages. Come attend a great talk about our favorite topic as Mr. Seff gives a fascinating overview of what it means to be an attorney for the wine, beer, and spirits industry. Lunch will be served!
Mr. Seff currently leads the Wine, Beer & Spirits practice as a partner at Pillsbury LLP. He spent 13 years as a lawyer with Wine Institute, the trade association of the California Wine Industry and, during the last seven, served as the Institute’s Chief Counsel. He has expertise in the regulatory, trade, licensing, trademark, contractual and land use issues associated with the licensed beverage industry. He has taught courses on wine law at UC Berkeley’s Boalt School of Law, published numerous articles on the subject of wine law, and is a key member in many of the licensed beverage industry’s most important associations.
