Join the International Law Society for a lunch discussion with Professor Siegfried Fina on the legal implications of Brexit.

The ILS lunch talk will begin with a keynote by Professor Siegfried Fina, followed by Q&A with the attendees of the event. In his keynote, Professor Fina will first look at the causes of the UK vote on June 23 in favor of leaving the EU (Brexit), especially at the fiercely discussed “burden” imposed by the current state of EU law on a Member State including the UK. These causes will be a dominant factor and probably limit the flexibility of the UK government in shaping the UK’s future relationship with the EU.  With these causes in mind, Professor Fina will address the legal implications of Brexit, distinguishing between a hard Brexit and a soft Brexit, and discuss possible legal options and policy strategies for designing the future economic relationship between the UK and the EU in the light of EU law and international economic law.
