Individual developers, start-up companies and large enterprises alike are experimenting with mobile applications, platforms and stores for apps and related business models. Legal counsel and business leaders are struggling with questions of law and best practices relating to data collection, security, consumer notices, contract terms, tax compliance and other legal topics. A panel of high level, experienced practitioners will provide tips, checklists and a road map for addressing legal considerations relating to mobile apps, including best practices for mobile TOU and Privacy Policies, platform considerations, including where to offer your app and issues that can get an app rejected, placement on a mobile device and how to gain traction with users, open source considerations and international issues.
This evening program is sponsored by Stanford Law School's Center for e-Commerce as a supplement to our successful annual eCommerce Best Practices Conference (our 11th Annual Conference is scheduled for June 2014, http://www.law.stanford.edu/event/2014/06/16/11th-annual-best-practices-conference). Attorneys, privacy officers, app developers, program managers and others with an interest in mobile apps and related legal considerations are invited to attend.
