Regardless of how their legal careers take shape, at some point, many SLS grads express a desire to move outside of the law. But those without prior business experience or a dual professional degree often struggle to be seen as anything ‘but a lawyer.’
In this Zoom event, Faris Ali Mohiuddin, BA ’07, JD ’13, MBA ’14 will moderate a conversation with SLS alums who’ve successfully transitioned into non-legal roles at different points in their careers.
We’ll feature three alums (without prior full-time business jobs or MBAs) who’ve made this change at three key career junctions:
- Directly out of law school into an operations role
- Out of BigLaw into a product role
- Out of an in-house legal role into a business leadership role
Each panelist will speak to why they decided to make a change, how they identified new opportunities and how they tactically went about ‘making the leap’ into non-legal duties. There will be a Q&A portion during the conversation.
