An ACS Lunch Event
Join ACS for a lunch with Professor Darrell Duffie, the Dean Whitter Distinguished Professor of Finance at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Professor Duffie will briefly explain the nature of these risks and offer a critical discussion of the costs and benefits of proposals in Washington to address them. Questions from the audience are welcomed.
Darrell Duffie received his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1984. Since then, he has been at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. He does research on security markets, over-the-counter derivatives, banking, and risk management, and has authored several books and numerous research papers on these topics. Duffie currently teaches courses at Stanford on security valuation and on debt markets. He has served as a consultant to major corporations and financial institutions, and is a member of the editorial boards of leading academic journals in finance and economics. Duffie is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a member of the Financial Advisory Roundtable of the New York Federal Reserve, and serves on the boards of directors of several not-for-profit groups and public corporations. Duffie was the President of the American Finance Association in 2009. The talk will take place in Room 180.
