Sexual and gender violence continues to plague Central Africa, presenting challenges to lawyers, medical practitioners, and other advocates for human and women's rights. Join the Stanford International Human Right Law Society (SIHRLA) to learn about the experiences and perspectives of Amy Belsher, a human rights attorney at the Center for Justice and Accountability who has investigated accountability for sexual and gender-based violence in Uganda, and Kristy DeRemer, who ran a year long research effort documenting the needs of war-affected women in Northern Uganda. Lunch will be provided.
