If/When/How Lunch Talk on Shield Laws with Professor Rebouche
Join If/When/How, SLS’s reproductive justice organization, for a conversation with Professor Rachel Rebouche (UT Austin) on reproductive rights shield laws and the multi-state litigation challenging their constitutionality. Professor Rebouche, Professor at The University of Texas School of Law, is a leading scholar in reproductive health. She serves as the faculty lead of the Sissy Farenthold Reproductive Justice Defense Project and regularly contributes to legal journals and national media coverage of reproductive rights. She will discuss the lawsuit filed in early October by Louisiana, Alabama, and Arkansas challenging shield laws in New York, California, and Massachusetts. Professor Rebouche will explain the arguments lobbied against the shield laws, their strength, and the consequences for access to medication abortion and protection of health care providers in states where abortion is legal. A Q&A will follow Professor Rebouche’s talk. All are welcome!
