From Economic Development to Rivalry: Exploring China’s Rise and the US Response

Course Dates: 9/8/26- 9/20/26

This S-Term course, led by Professor Mike Klausner and Dr Alice Schneider, explores what many have termed the “economic rivalry” between the US and China. Of particular interest are the regulatory framework and economic conditions underpinning China’s innovation engine. The first week of the course will occur on campus and will include guest speakers. Students and faculty will spend the second week of the course in China. We will visit Chinese companies at the cutting edge of innovation and speak with policy analysts who can offer a broad view from the Chinese perspective.
