Judge Owens (SLS 1996) will share his experience clerking on the Ninth Circuit and for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg—invaluable guidance for students pursuing their own clerkships. He’ll discuss how his clerkships shaped his career trajectory, including his subsequent work as a federal prosecutor for more than 11 years (serving as Chief of the Criminal Division in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California), at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, and ultimately to his 2014 U.S. Senate confirmation to the Ninth Circuit.
