Melany Grout is an attorney and land tenure specialist in the Landesa Center for Women’s Land Rights.
Landesa is a non-profit organization that secures land rights for the world’s poorest. They partner with developing country governments to design and implement laws, policies, and programs concerning land that provide opportunity, further economic growth, and promote social justice. Landesa pays particular attention to women’s land rights and champions women’s secure access to land by providing resources and training that connects policymakers, researchers, and practitioners around the world.
Melany leads Landesa’s global advocacy on the development of “post-2015” sustainable development goals, engaging stakeholders ranging from civil society organizations and UN agencies to country governments. She also provides technical assistance and strategic and design oversight for Landesa’s Girls Project in West Bengal, India.
