Sally Yates served as Deputy Attorney General from 2015 to 2018, after a long and distinguished career as a prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s office in Atlanta. She served as the U.S. Attorney in that office from 2010 to 2015 — the first woman to do so — and was the lead prosecutor in the trial of Eric Rudolph, the man convicted of the bombing at Atlanta’s Centennial Park during the 1996 Olympics. In January 2019, she served as the Acting Attorney General until she was removed from office for refusing to enforce the travel ban. She is now a partner in King & Spalding’s Special Matters & Government Investigations practice, where she specializes in internal and independent investigations for public and private organizations and boards.
