Joe Zabel serves as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, in the General Crimes Unit. He joined the office in January 2025.

Joe previously served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Raymond J. Lohier, Jr. on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit from 2024 to 2025. Prior to that, he was an associate at WilmerHale from 2022 to 2024 and clerked for the Honorable Eric R. Komitee in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York from 2021 to 2022.

Joe received his JD from Stanford Law School in 2020 and his B.A. from Stanford University in 2016.
