A seminal study of the boards and board members of the largest and most influential companies in our region will be reviewed and discussed. The study, jointly sponsored by Lonergan Partners and SVDX, examines the demographics and identity of Silicon Valley boards. We will discuss such topics as gender, age, compensation, tenure, country of origin and education of the 1,000+ people who serve on the boards of the “Silicon Valley 150.”
Kambiz Hooshmand is an experienced tech executive and board director who currently serves as chairman at Infinera. Kambiz also served as the CEO of Applied Micro Circuits from 2005 to 2009. Prior to that, he was an early executive at Stratacom here in Silicon Valley, a company Cisco bought in 1996. Kambiz was the SVP and general manager of one of Cisco’s largest divisions. | |
David Larcker holds the James Irvin Miller Professorship at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is the director of the Corporate Governance Research Initiative at the Stanford GSB and senior faculty of the Arthur and Toni Rembe Rock Center for Corporate Governance at Stanford University.
