The Next Chapter in Space: Environmental Law, Space Policy, and Human Missions to Mars

- This event has passed.
Join the Environmental Law Society as we meet with Margaret Race, an ecologist concerned with pollution between planets. Her work focuses on the scientific, technical, legal and societal issues of ensuring that Missions to the Red Planet and other solar system bodies do not either inadvertently bring terrestrial microbes along, or return any microbes to Earth, either of which could greatly jeopardize our search for indigenous extraterrestrial life.
With a background on exotic and invasive species, Margaret Race has worked at the EPA, KQED, Stanford’s Center for International Security and Cooperation, and more.
Lunch will be served.
