The Center for Law and the Biosciences and the BioLaw and Health Policy Society present an afternoon talk by Prof. William M. Sage, “Obamacare in Four Easy Lessons.”
William M. Sage, MD, JD, an authority on health law and policy, is James R. Dougherty Chair for Faculty Excellence in law at the University of Texas at Austin. Prof. Sage is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies, is an elected fellow of the Hastings Center on bioethics, and serves on the editorial board of Health Affairs. He was a professor at Columbia Law School from 1995 until 2006, and has been a visiting professor at Yale, Harvard, and Duke. He holds an undergraduate degree from Harvard College, medical and law degrees from Stanford University, and an honorary doctorate from the University of Paris-Rene Descartes. He has practice experience in both medicine and law, and in 1993 directed four working groups of the Clinton administration’s Task Force on Health Care Reform.
