Portland: Annual Stockpickers’ Luncheon With Baker Ellis Asset Management

Stanford Law School and Stanford GSB alumni and guests are cordially invited to attend the annual stockpickers’ event. This year's luncheon features a Q&A session with both partners of the Portland investment management company, Baker Ellis Asset Management LLC. 

Cost to attend is $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Walk-ins will be accomodated on a space-available basis. Kindly register by Friday , May 22.

About the Baker Ellis partners: 

Barnes Ellis co-founded Baker Ellis after serving as a portfolio manager at Sutro & Co. in Portland. Earlier, he was marketing director and vice president for Charter Investment Group. Barnes earned a bachelor’s degree cum laude in 1987 from Harvard University, where he also was named a John Harvard Scholar. Before entering the investment industry, he honed his investigative skills as an award-winning staff writer and editor at The Oregonian newspaper. He has served on the boards of a variety of non-profit organizations, including Literary Arts, Friends of Chamber Music and the Oregon Public Affairs Network. He also is a past president of the Harvard Club of Oregon and past treasurer of Literary Arts. 

Brian C. Baker has been an investment professional for nearly two decades. He earned his bachelor’s degree from UC California at Berkeley in 1987 and later was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He began his investment career as a registered representative of Bidwell & Co. Prior to co-founding Baker Ellis, he conducted proprietary trading and market-making operations for Wilson Davis & Co. He is a member of the Portland Society of Financial Analysts.
