Lunchtime Panel
The claim that Big Law is dying has been made … and made again. But a recent article in The New Republic made the controversial assertion that only 20 to 25 of the current top 250 firms will survive the next ten years with their business model intact. The rest, the author writes, “will have to reinvent themselves or disappear.” Is this true and, if so, what are we doing to get ahead of these massive changes in our field?
The Center on the Legal Profession welcomes Noam Scheiber, author of “The Last Days of Big Law” and senior editor at The New Republic, Steven Harper, author of The Lawyer Bubble and former partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, and Robert Dell, managing partner of Latham & Watkins LLP, to debate and discuss the impending “demise” of Big Law and the implications for lawyers and law students looking toward the future in the legal profession.
