Evonne Silva is the Legal-Policy Department Operations Manager at the ACLU of Northern California where she serves a managing attorney function and leads in the management of the Legal-Policy Department. Before re-joining the ACLU-NC, Evonne worked as a Staff Attorney/Equal Justice Works Fellow in the East Bay Community Law Center’s Consumer Justice practice. In launching the Immigrant Consumer Justice Project, Evonne worked to defend, enforce, and advance the consumer rights of low-income immigrants in Alameda County through direct legal services, community education and outreach, policy advocacy, and affirmative litigation. She is a graduate of UCLA School of Law where she was selected to join the Epstein Program in Public Interest Law and Policy. While in law school, Evonne served as a judicial extern with the Honorable Edward M. Chen, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, interned with the ACLU of Southern California and California Rural Legal Assistance, worked as a full-time extern with the National Origin, Immigration, and Language Rights Program at the Legal Aid Society – Employment Law Center, and served as the Deputy Field Operations Coordinator for the SAFE California campaign.
