Web3 is coming for your golf course, your football team and your bank account! And it’s doing so through DAOs—decentralized autonomous organizations—that flip traditional notions of ownership, governance, and even sovereignty on their heads. Join SLS alumni Spencer Hodson (2020) and James Wigginton (2013) as they discuss their project to create legal entities that are tailor-made for DAOs—and formed through Native American governments instead of the laws of New York or Delaware. The vision is to create legal forms that prize iteration over stagnation; cooperation over competition; and the just distribution of wealth rather than its concentration in the hands of the privileged few. Professor Elizabeth Reese will moderate the discussion.  Student feedback is strongly encouraged.
