Join SLR for its closing lunch of its 2022 Symposium. It will feature a presentation by Bob Bauer and Ben Ginsberg to discuss their joint venture to create the Election Official Legal Defense Network.
Bob Bauer just finished co-chairing Presidential Commission on the Supreme Court of the United States. But Bauer is also a Professor of Practice and Distinguished Scholar in Residence at NYU Law, and Co-Director of NYU’s Legislative and Regulatory Process Clinic. He served as White House Counsel to President Obama, and returned to private practice in June 2011. In 2013, the President named Bauer to be Co-Chair of the Presidential Commission on Election Administration, which in January of 2014 submitted to the President its findings and recommendations in “The American Voting Experience: Report and Recommendations of the Presidential Commission on Election Administration.”
And Ben Ginsberg is a retired partner of Jones Day. But prior to joining Jones Day in 2014, President Barack Obama chose Ginsberg and Robert Bauer, a Democrat, in 2013 to co-chair the Presidential Commission on Election Administration, a yearlong investigation into voting problems. Their findings, “The American Voting Experience: Report and Recommendations of the Presidential Commission on Election Administration,” were published in 2014. Mr. Ginsberg served as national counsel to the Bush-Cheney presidential campaigns in the 2004 and 2000 election cycles and played a central role in the 2000 Florida recount. In 2012 and 2008, he served as national counsel to the Romney for President campaign.
