This is the first speaker-panel for SLR’s 2022 Symposium on voting rights. Professors Dawood of the University of Toronto and Kang of Northwestern University will briefly present their forthcoming essays in the Stanford Law Review Online. Then, Professor Persily of Stanford Law School will moderate a discussion with leading Supreme Court practitioners Jessie Amunson of Jenner and Block, Michael Carvin of Jones Day, and Allison Riggs of the Southern Coalition for Social Justice on past Supreme Court precedent on votings rights, future litigation at the Court, and the ideas set forth by Professors Dawood and Kang’s forthcoming essays.
