The Stanford-Rotman Corporate Governance Day: Major Challenges in Today's Boardrooms is the inaugural executive education program for directors and senior executives of Canadian companies that includes both US and Canadian corporate governance best practices.
The one-day program addressed a broad range of challenges that confront modern boards in both Canada and the United States, including the role of Independent directors, challenges posed by activist investors, subsidiaries and governance implications and M&A litigation (particularly in the US).
The Stanford-Rotman Corporate Governance Day: Major Challenges in Today's Boardrooms brought together leading Stanford and Rotman faculty, CEOs, directors, regulators, jurists, and scholars for a rigorous and balanced examination of corporate governance in the US and Canada.
The program consisted of a number of keynote speakers and panel discussion on the following topics:
- Shareholder activism
- The Role of Independent Directors
- M&A Litigation
- The Challenges of Subsidiary Governance
Esteemed panelists featured Stanford faculty, Rotman faculty, experience board members, and experts in corporate governance.
