Supreme Court Roundup: The Year Past and the Year Ahead

This past year was a remarkable one for the Supreme Court. The cases ranged across affirmative action, public employees unions, voting rights, abortion regulations, immigration, public corruption, juvenile justice, and class actions. Justice Scalia died unexpectedly and, as Congress refuses to take up consideration of President Obama’s nomination of Judge Merrick Garland, the Court is left with only eight Justices for the near future.
The Stanford Constitutional Law Center and the Center on the Legal Profession are pleased to present the Supreme Court Roundup, in which Professors Pam Karlan and Jeff Fisher, along with seasoned Supreme Court practitioner Mark Haddad of Sidley Austin, discuss the landmark events of the past year and look into the upcoming term to assess what is coming.
