The national international human rights NGO Human Rights First, an independent advocacy and action organization that challenges America to live up to its ideals, has launched a major new public outreach initiative to educate American high school students about international human rights law. Human Rights First wants today's high school students to embrace international human rights law as part of our American national heritage. This public outreach initiative will send current law students to speak to current high school students about international human rights and the U.S. Constitution.
On Monday, October 27, at 12:45 pm [room TBD], Professor David Sloss of Santa Clara University will describe the Human Rights First outreach project and hopes to identify Stanford Law students who would be interested in participating in this effort to educate high school students about international human rights and their close connection to U.S. constitutional values.
This event is co-sponsored by the International Law Society, the Stanford Program in International and Comparative Law, and the Stanford Human Rights Center.
