The Kirkwood Moot Court Board presents:
What Is Geofencing and Why Should You Care?
Geofencing enables law enforcement to discover the location of cell phones and the identity of their users at a particular time and place, based on a data request to companies, such as Google, that collect location information.
- Is this a 4th Amendment search requiring a warrant?
- If so, can a warrant even satisfy the 4th Amendment in these circumstances?
Come hear renowned experts debate these issues, which are the subject of this year’s Kirkwood Moot Court Competition, in a discussion moderated by Prof. Robert Weisberg.
The panelists are:
Prof. Orin Kerr, now of SLS, noted scholar and expert on digital technology and the 4th Amendment
Richard Salgado, a partner and founder of Salgado Strategies, a consultancy providing guidance to organizations navigating the complex geopolitical, cybersecurity, and surveillance environment in which they operate.
Lunch will be served for those who RSVP.
Space is limited. RSVP required.
