Two recent cases in which patients were determined to be dead according to neurological criteria — Jahi McMath in Oakland, CA and Marlise Muñoz in Fort Worth, TX — have drawn national attention to the concept of “brain death.” Please join us for a panel discussion exploring the ethics of brain death with leading ethics and medical experts:
- Paul Fisher, MD, Professor of Neurology & Neurological Sciences and Pediatrics, and Chief of the Division of Child Neurology, Department of Neurology, Stanford. In December 2013, Dr. Fisher was appointed by the Alameda County Superior Court judge to independently evaluate Jahi McMath.
