Week of Abolition: Letter Writing to LGBTQ+ Incarcerated Folks

Join SPARC (Stanford Prison Abolition and Resource Coalition), NLG (National Lawyers Guild), OutLAW, and community volunteers from Flying Over Walls Prisoner Solidarity Project to write and color birthday cards for queer and trans people imprisoned in California. Trans people in prison are facing extreme hostility. Letter writing and penpal programs help us connect to our queer and trans community across prison walls, and can help us resist the violent isolation of the prison system.
They will also offer some introduction to understanding the prison industrial complex (PIC) as it relates to queer and trans experiences as well as how we see letterwriting as an abolitionist strategy. Learn how you can support with solidarity and action through letter writing and getting a pen pal! Please join us for this meaningful session; all materials and snacks will be provided 🙂
