Best Practices for Working with Marginalized, Stressed, or Traumatized Clients

As you prepare for your summer internship, this presentation is designed to address the vicarious trauma that frequently accompanies working with clients who have experienced trauma. This can happen in a wide-range of types of cases, not just some of the more obvious practice areas such as domestic violence, immigration and asylum cases. We hope this topic will be of interest to students who have worked, plan to work, or currently work with marginalized and stressed clients. We’ll share some of the best practices that we have developed in working with clients and which are recommended by the literature on this topic.
