Week of Abolition: Tour of A.B.O. Comix Art Gallery

  • This event is archived.

Join SPARC (Stanford Prison Abolition and Resource Coalition) and NLG (National Lawyer Guild) for a tour of A.B.O. Comix in Oakland. A.B.O. Comix is an Oakland based collective and nonprofit small press that works in solidarity with imprisoned queer and transgender artists. They operate on the principles of DIY culture, abolitionist organizing, and community-led support. They believe that transformative justice and compassionate accountability can replace punitive systems, and their work is designed to uplift incarcerated LGBTQ+ people through artistic collaboration, direct support, and public education. By fostering relationships between prisoners and the outside world, they create networks of solidarity that challenge the state’s attempts to disappear and silence marginalized people.

We will get a tour of their space, and learn more about this incredible work! As this event is in Oakland, carpools will be coordinated among those who RSVP 🙂
