Justice Access Africa: Strengthening Human Rights Mechanisms

Student Work

In March 2012, clinic students and faculty traveled to Tanzania to assist the Coalition for an Effective African Court in identifying best practices in regional mechanisms to ensure adequate representation for victims of human rights abuse. In particular, the research team examined the public defender system and other representation models at the Inter-American Court, as well as other institutional arrangements, to help the Coalition identify effective avenues for change within the African human rights system.
