Latin American Prisons Project

Clinic students engage in the Stanford Human Rights Center’s project on criminal justice and prison reform in Latin America by participating in fact-finding missions to detention centers in the Americas, as well as by researching best practices in limitating the use of pre-trial detention. In previous years, clinc students have visited prisons in Panama, the Dominican Republic and Peru, and contributed to fact-finding reports, as well as to an article on prison reform in Latin America to be published in September 2016.
