Biography
Katherine L. Chasmar is a senior attorney on the corporate transactions and governance team at Stripe, focusing primarily on mergers and acquisitions, early stage fintech investments, and special projects.
Prior to joining Stripe, Katherine was an attorney at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, where she represented public and private clients across industries on a wide range of transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, strategic investments, financings, and corporate governance and securities law matters. She also co-taught an advanced Mergers & Acquisitions course at Harvard Law School and represented victims of domestic violence in immigration matters in partnership with Her Justice, a nonprofit organization.
Katherine received a B.A. summa cum laude in Economics from Queen’s University. She received a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where she served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. While pursuing her graduate degrees, Katherine worked as a summer fellow at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. and as a summer associate at McKinsey & Company in New York. She also previously worked as an investment analyst at Morgan Stanley in London. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Katherine currently lives in San Francisco with her husband.
