On the plaintiffs’ side, Roberts tapped Kline & Specter partners Shanin Specter and Tobias Millrood and Motley Rice member Mike Daly to serve as liaison counsel.

According to Millrood, most of the hair relaxer lawsuits in Philadelphia—which as of late May numbered about 25—are Kline & Specter cases, while Motley Rice has a “significant footprint nationwide.” Millrood said he looks forward to working alongside Daly.

Daly said in an email that he is “proud to be appointed plaintiffs’ co-liaison counsel in this critically important case.” Daly continued, “I look forward to working with Kline & Specter to lead this litigation and fight for these individuals who have been irreparably harmed by hair relaxer products.”
