An Environmental and Natural Resources Law & Policy Program (ENRLP) report on regulatory loopholes for concentrated animal feeding operations, available here, was featured in SFGATE.

The undercount could be more than 200 times what recent farm reports show — likely as much as 44,000 tons of unrecorded manure — a new study from Stanford University’s Environmental and Natural Resources Law & Policy Program found. The missing manure is just one part of the potentially larger human health problem, as the study also raises concerns about a lack of reporting on where that excess manure ends up.
