“To the extent that he’s trying to deny citizenship to individuals who are entitled to it under the 14th Amendment, it’s a completely futile effort, and it’s a political stunt to the extent that it is addressing the issue of so-called ‘birth tourism’ that’s already covered by federal law,” Guttentag said. “So what he does isn’t adding anything to what the government is already authorized to do.”
