The Deshamanya RKW Goonesekere Memorial programme on Law and Justice was launched in 2016 by the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo. The second programme in 2018 will be presented by the Department of Legal Studies, Open University of Sri Lanka. It will commence with an oration by Professor Erik Jensen, Professor of the Practice of Law and Director, Rule of Law Program, Stanford Law School, USA.

Professor Jensen was a Fulbright scholar in Sri Lanka in the nineteen eighties and contributed to the LLB programmes of the Open University and the University of Colombo at that time. He later served as the Representative of the Asia Foundation in Colombo.
