Dissociation from Companies Engaged in Misleading Communications

Abstract

This Policy Lab is the outgrowth of recommendations by Stanford University’s Committee on Funding for Energy Research and Education (CFERE), which was charged with examining the issues raised by the University’s acceptance of funding, particularly by Industrial Affiliates Programs (IAPs), from fossil fuel companies. One major set of issues involved the circumstances, if any, when an IAP should dissociate from a fossil fuel production company based on the company’s behavior.
