Cooley LLP is helping form and advise the Green Hydrogen Council, a nonprofit dedicating to advancing the use of green hydrogen to accelerate the transition to a carbon-free energy supply, greater energy independence, and the decarbonization of the power, gas, industrial, transportation, building, public infrastructure and agricultural sectors. The GHC’s mission is guided by the urgent need to decarbonize the planet and combat climate change by reducing man-made CO2 emissions via the decarbonization of hydrogen as a mainstream commodity and utilizing it for many applications across sectors, displacing the use of fossil fuels. The GHC will initially focus on advancing specific green hydrogen projects at scale to further market development in California and the Western United States.
