A transactional team assisted Orrick’s long-standing nonprofit client, FINCA International, in connection with a $100K equity investment in Chanzi as part of a convertible note round to support the company in unlocking $350K Euro in grant funding from the Dutch Fund for Climate and Development. Together with the local community in Tanzania, Chanzi collects food waste to be turned into animal feed and organic fertilizer by Black Soldier Fly Larvae. These replace the inferior-quality products currently in use.
