Increasing Access to Lighting and Charging

Foley Hoag advised on a pro bono basis BioLite, a social enterprise that strives to empower people and protect our planet through access to safe, renewable energy. Using their unique technologies and distribution model, BioLite creates affordable, durable products that harness surrounding energy allowing off-grid families to cook free of polluting particulates, charge devices, and light their homes. Our lawyers helped BioLite prepare loan agreements with an African impact investor and draft on-lending agreements with their distribution partners, as well as negotiate a mezzanine secured debt agreement for the parent company.
